Okay, I don't mean to be rude, but please someone tell me... Why oh whyyyy do people do their hair like this in Utah/Idaho

It must be pretty bad if a Texan is wondering what the heck is going on :). I've never understood it myself...
ha ha... See, people think Texans are all about big hair. It's not at all that way. Maybe in some small towns but not the big cities. Utah hair is a different story. The ratting has got to go!

i totally agree! i never understood why this is so "in" here in utah and has been for years. i mean seriously... they arent doing it ANYWHERE else! i dont know why girls here just cant take a hint bc its pretty gross. lol
I prefer the ratted pig tails myself. Especially when my Boss lady wears them...:)

Seriously, that is nasty looking hair. I also think the tiny, greasy side-swept bang that just sort of hangs in one eye is nasty too. Utah needs to think a bit more global.

Sorry I've been slacking on my comments and reading your blog lately (our internet source stopped working)... so I read your goals, and about your neice and this one on hair...
Nice work on the goals! I made just three new years resolutions this year, but I think I'm doing okay. I was trying to make them very doable. You made like a hundred really good ones and I can't believe you're pretty much doing them all!
As for your niece, very cute girl. As for the hair, I don't see people do this too much, but then again, I never go anywhere but church and work and I work in a warehouse with all boys and tomgirls... and I don't think churchy girls wear hair like this- I've never seen it.

I worked in Spanish Fork for a time right after I graduated and this is how all the "cool girls" did their hair. I think the smaller the Utah town, the worse the hair is. Maybe it's because they aren't as exposed to what's really in style and they're behind the times? Whatever the reason is, it's just ridiculous. Bad, bad hair!
Utah hair is the bomb! New York has the statue of liberty, Hawaii has volcanoes, Florida has the everglades, and Utah has the distinguished ratted hair look. It wouldn't be Utah without it. So as far as I am concerned keep the rats coming.

Cami, maybe you invent a special mirror for the back of your hair. I think if they really saw what was back there the trend would end completely...well one could only hope. you wonder if they think the front of your hair is all that matters. I guess so b/c it's always perfect in the front and nasty in the back...mysteries of life. We will never know.
